Tessa Butcher 2023-2024 National Veterans and Family Support Ambassador

Headshot of Tessa Butcher

It’s so hard to believe that we are already past the halfway point for our year. With reporting periods coming to a close in a couple months, what are some ways that we can show our appreciation to veterans?
1. Donate to the VFW. The VFW is always looking for donations to help with financial assistance for things like Disaster Relief and Unmet Needs. Donations to the VFW can be made by visiting The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Donations made here will be used where most urgently needed and support our veterans and service members while they are on the front line, as they are being discharged, and even long after they have returned home.
2. Make or drop off dinner.
3. Fly your flag properly.
4. Visit a war memorial.
5. Volunteer at a VA Hospital.
6. Shop at a veteran’s business.
7. Treat a veteran to a cup of coffee.
8. Listen to a veteran’s stories.
9. Help with home repairs.
10. Write letters or send care packages. Funding is available for Adopt-A-Unit through the Military Assistance Program. More information is available at Troop Support – VFW.
11. Say thank you!
Don’t forget about the citations and awards available for the Veterans & Family Support Program!
