Don’t Stop Now – Keep the Momentum Going for Scholarships

National President Jane Reape’s Special Project

National President Jane Reape’s Special Project is to establish an escrow fund for the 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art Contest, which will increase award amounts and add more awards. Let’s all help grow this fund by encouraging Auxiliaries to hold a fundraiser to support the National President’s Special Project.

To donate, log in to your MALTA profile, click on Make a Gift and select National President’s Special Project.

Mail checks earmarked 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art to VFW Auxiliary National Headquarters Attn: Scholarship Fund, 406 W. 34th St., 10thFloor, Kansas City, MO 64111.

Never too Early to Start Promoting Next Year’s Scholarships

The Veterans of Foreign Wars has announced the themes for the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen for the 2023-2024.

The theme for Voice of Democracy is “What are the greatest attributes of our Democracy?”

Patriots Pen theme is “How are you inspired by America?”

Now is the time to start working in partnership with VFW comrades to promote these two VFW-sponsored contests and encourage youth participation.

Celebrate Participation in the Scholarships Contest

The Scholarships Program is a wonderful way to engage and introduce youth, our communities and potential members to the VFW and VFW Auxiliary. Celebrate and recognize everyone who participates – students, teachers, and parents, members who promoted the Program, contest judges and local media if they help promote the Program or covered an award event. Everyone likes to be acknowledged and recognized for their efforts. By recognizing those who participate in the scholarship contests they will be more likely to participate in the future.
