Membership & Leadership: Recruiting One Member and Retaining One Member Matters!
October is in the books and we finished the month at 80.14 percent. I am so proud of what we have accomplished thus far – our percentage at the end of each month has consistently been above where we were last year, telling me that each and every one of you are working our Membership program and understand the importance of attaining 100 percent plus.
The end of October also marked the end of the first quarterly goal. Congratulations to every Department that made its goal. While the complete list is not yet available, I know it’s significant and that many Departments not only made its first quarterly goal, but have already made their second and third quarterly goals. Departments that reach their quarterly goals are earning extra money while working Membership, the “heartbeat” of our organization. Is your Department among them?
Everyone is doing an awesome job recruiting new members! We also need to focus on retaining our current members. December 31 will be here soon and we need to collect those continuous dues in order for members to remain in good standing.

- Have you put a notice in your newsletter?
- Have you personally contacted members who have yet to pay dues via phone, email or social media?
Remember we must recruit and retain in order to be successful!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for what you achieved during the first quarter. Don’t lose your momentum – don’t lose your focus – don’t stop now. Let’s make this year a banner year in Membership. Remember: recruiting one member and retaining one member matters!
